That I am at the period of my age
Nor you, nor J, have any cause to mourne;
For life is nothing, but a Pilgrimage;
When we have travel’d long, we must returne:
Let us be glad then, that my spirit goes,
After so many toiles, to his repose.

Не плачь ты обо мне, сынок, ей-богу,
И то, что я скажу, не позабудь:
Жизнь – Странствие, ведущее к порогу,
С которого мы начали наш путь.
Сейчас мой дух, извечный мой трудяга,
Уйдёт на вечный отдых… Вот где благо!
