Epigrams. The Third Booke. № 30. That nothing more opposeth the tranquillity of life, which is proper, and peculiar to Wise-men, then to be tyed to a generality of publicke example in all our actions

AMongst the causes of our evils, this
Is one of the most ordinary, that
We live b'example: things which are amisse
Supplying oftentimes the place of what
Is rightest, and most vertuous: for there's no man
(Scarce) holds that error, which is done in comon.
