WHAN I sleep I dream,
  Whan I wauk I’m eerie,
Sleep I canna get,
  For thinkin’ o’ my dearie.

Lanely night comes on,
  A’ the house are sleeping;
I think on the bonnie lad
  That has my heart a keeping.
