Poem by Louisa Sarah Bevington

Perfected

FEAR hath torment! Hie thee, Fear
I am safe, for love is here.

Give me courage; I am weak,
Darling, till I hear you speak.

Do I love you worthily?
Look into my eyes and see.

Do I love you very well?
Ask my heart, and it shall tell.

As the tempest rageth by,
Cling we closer, you and I.

In your arms and on your breast,
Though the worlds pass, I am blest.

Fear hath torment! Hie thee, Fear!
Love's security is here.
