Poem by Emily Elizabeth Dickinson

* * *

ALL but Death can be
Adjusted;
Dynasties repaired,
Systems settled in their
Sockets,
Centuries removed,—

Wastes of lives resown
With colors
By superior springs,
Death—unto itself exception—
Is exempt from change.
