Poem by Emily Elizabeth Dickinson

* * *

The largest Fire ever known
Occurs each Afternoon —
Discovered is without surprise
Proceeds without concern —

Consumes and no report to men
An Occidental Town,
Rebuilt another morning
To be again burned down.
