To O’Keefe, the Dramatist

They say, O'Keefe,
Thou art a thief,
	That half thy works are stol’n, and more;
I say, O’Keefe,
Thou art no thief
	Such stuff was never writ before.

[Attributed to John Wolcot (Peter Pindar).
John O’Keefe (1747-1833) wrote ‘Wild Oats,’ ‘The Agreeable Surprise,’ and other plays, published in 1798.]
