The Master and the Man

A man, and his man, chanced late to be
Nigh where a crow stood crying in a tree.
“James,” (quoth the master), “the crow hath spied thee.”
“Nay, by God! he looketh on you, master, (quoth he).
“Taunts,” (quoth the master), rebound sometimes I see;
Where I thought thee, thou dost taunt me.”
