Poem by John Heywood

Of Hogstown

The head man in Hogstown, hogherd is expressed;
Where hogs be parishioners, hogherd must be best.
Yet hogshead in Hogstown is no John-a-droin,
Pigs dare not quich there, if hogshead hang the groin.
