Emily Jane Brontë (Эмили Бронте)

* * *

She dried her tears and they did smile
To see her cheeks' returning glow
How little dreaming all the while
That full heart throbbed to overflow

With that sweet look and lively tone
And bright eye shining all the day
They could not guess at midnight lone
How she would weep the time away

Emily Jane Brontë's other poems:
  1. Mild the Mist upon the Hill
  2. That Wind I Used to Hear It Swelling
  3. The Wind Was Rough Which Tore
  4. The Wanderer from the Fold
  5. Often Rebuked, Yet Always Back Returning
