William Butler Yeats (Уильям Батлер Йейтс)

O Do Not Love Too Long

SWEETHEART, do not love too long:
I loved long and long,
And grew to be out of fashion
Like an old song.
All through the years of our youth
Neither could have known
Their own thought from the other's,
We were so much at one.
But O, in a minute she changed --
O do not love too long,
Or you will grow out of fashion
Like an old song.

William Butler Yeats's other poems:
  1. When Helen Lived
  2. To a Friend Whose Work Has Come to Nothing
  3. The Three Beggars
  4. To a Wealthy Man Who Promised a Second Subscription to the Dublin Municipal Gallery if It Were Proved the People Wanted Pictures
  5. The Attack on 'The Playboy of the Western World', 1907
