John Dryden (Джон Драйден)

* * *

Fat minds, and ever grovelling on the ground!
We bring our manners to the blest abodes,
And think what pleases us must please the Gods.

John Dryden's other poems:
  1. You Charm'd Me Not With That Fair Face
  2. A Prologue
  3. Hymn For St. John's Eve, 29th June
  4. To John Hoddesdon, on his Divine Epigrams
