Текст оригинала на английском языке Comfort THO' love be bought and honour sold, The sunset keeps its glow of gold, And round the rosy summits cold The white clouds hover, fold on fold. Tho' over-ripe the nations rot, Tho' right be dead and faith forgot, Tho' one dull cloud the heavens may blot, The tender leaf delayeth not. Tho' all the world lie sunk in ill, The bounteous autumns mellow still, By virgin sand and sea-worn hill The constant waters ebb and fill. From out the throng and stress of lies, From out the painful noise of sighs, One voice of comfort seems to rise : ' It is the meaner part that dies.' |
